Saudi Arabia to drive Islamic finance growth in 2025, S&P says
The Kingdom’s banking system growth, supported by Vision 2030 initiatives, is expected to contribute significantly to the expansion of Islamic banking assets next year, S&P Global Ratings said in its latest outlook report. Saudi Arabia’s debt market has seen significant growth in recent years, attracting investors’ interest in debt instruments amid rising interest rates.
Standard Chartered Launches Direct Custody Services in Saudi Arabia
Standard Chartered has expanded its product offering in the Middle East with the launch of direct custody services in Saudi Arabia. The service will be provided through Standard Chartered Capital Saudi Arabia, a wholly owned subsidiary of the group, licensed by the Capital Market Authority of Saudi Arabia. The new service allows clients to safekeep their financial assets and adds to the bank’s post-trade product capabilities in the region.
Saudi fintech startup Nqoodlet secures $3m in seed funding
Saudi fintech firm Nqoodlet has announced the successful closure of a $3 million seed funding round aimed at accelerating its mission to streamline financial operations for small and medium-sized enterprises.
SAMA grants license to Alannaya Al-Yatmania to conduct finance aggregation services
With this move, the total number of licensed firms offering finance aggregation services in Saudi Arabia rises to five. These developments align with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives, which aim to strengthen the digital economy, expand financial inclusion, and increase the share of cashless transactions to 70 percent by 2025.
